Jeera-Cheesy Crisps

Tea Time is the best time of a day, when you sit, relax and gossip about many things. And if its weekend then this time should be more special with quick and flavoured snacks.
Tea time snacks should be light and crisps.

So my dear friends, I am here with a healthy and the same time tasty crisps which you can cook in less than 1 hour.

Ingredients for Jeera-Cheesy Crisps:

  • Flour - 1.5 cups
  • Egg- 1 / Curd - 1/2 cup
  • Butter - 30 gm
  • Cumin seeds, crushed - 1 tsp
  • Black peppercorns, crushed - 1.5 tsp
  • Cheese, grated - 1 cup
  • Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt, as per taste (1 tsp)

Let's follow the steps:

  • Sift flour with baking powder. Add salt and mix well. Keep it aside.
  • Take cumin seeds and fry it in a pan without oil. After 1 minute, take the fried cumin seeds and with the help of pestle crush the cumin seeds lightly.
  • Crush black peppercorns with pestle the same way.
  • Melt butter in a bowl. Add flour, cheese, crushed black peppercorns and cumin seeds. Mix all the ingredients.
  • Add egg and start kneading the dough.
  • Though you will not need water to knead the dough, but if you feel dough is dry, add cold water a bit.
  • Dough should not be much sticky and wet. Cover the dough with wet cloth.
  • Now take small portions of dough, make round balls and with the help of a roller pin flatten them into round shapes. Or you can cut it with a cookie cutter to make small shapes.
  • Prick these crisps with a fork.
  • You can fry these or also bake them.
  • Grease the oven pan with butter and place the jeera-cheesy crisps on the pan.
  • Preheat oven at 220°C for 10 minutes and then bake crisps at 200°C for 20 to 25 minutes till they are brown and crisped.
  • Serve Jeera-Cheesy Crisps with hot tea and you can also have these with your favourite pickle or chutney.
