Chilli Chicken

So I am back from my busy schedule and just cooked a non-veg dish, which is loved by many. Lets start with the recipe.


Ingredients for Chilli Chicken -


  • Chicken - 250 gm (small pieces)
  • Garlic - 4 - 5 cloves (paste)
  • Ginger - 1/2 inch (paste)
  • Egg - 1
  • Green Chilli - 1
  • Onion - 1 (cubes)
  • Tomato - 1 (cubes)
  • Capsicum -1 (cubes)
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli flakes
  • Oregano
  • Tomato sauce - 2 tsp
  • Soy sauce - 1/2 tsp
  • Cornflour - 1 tbsp
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Oil
  • Salt, as per taste


Lets follow the steps =>


  • Marinate the chicken with garlic, ginger paste, and salt. Keep it for 30 minutes (minimum).
  • Cut onion, tomato, capsicum in cube shapes. Keep it aside.
  • Beat egg with salt, chilli powder and green chilli. Dip the chicken pieces into egg.
  • Heat oil in a pan, and shallow fry the chicken pieces till soft.
  • Take out another pan, heat oil and put onions. Fry till it turns soft and pink. Add capsicum, followed by tomatoes. Cook it for 2 minutes.
  • Add chilli flakes, oregano and salt. Cook it for 2 minutes.
  • Add the fried chicken pieces. Add tomato sauce, soy sauce and mix. (Chilli sauce - optional)
  • On the other hand, take cornflour and add it to water. Mix it well to avoid lumps.
  • Add the cornflour+water into the pan. Mix and cook it for 5 minutes.
  • If you want thick gravy, cook it until the water gets dried up. If you want gravy then cook it for less time.
Note: If you don't have cornflour and soy sauce - Take Chings Veg Manchurian masala. Mix it to water and add it to the pan. It will have the same taste.
