Kheer ( Date Palm Jaggery)

Hello Guys,

So sweet lovers will just love this recipe of mine, which is Kheer/ Paysam but made with Jaggery Date Palms, It tastes just awesome.

Why to waste time! Let begin!

Ingredients for Kheer -

  • Milk - 1.5 litre
  • Rice - 40 to 50 gm (soaked in water for minimum 30 minutes)
  • Date Palm Jaggery (Khajur) - 200 to 250 gm
  • Almonds, Cashews & Raisins to garnish

Lets follow the steps =>

  • Firstly, boil 1 litre of milk in a pan.
  • On the other hand, drain the water from rice.
  • Once milk gets boiled, add the rice into it.
  • Reduce the flame. The flame should be kept at low till the end of cooking.
  • Keep stirring the milk.
  • Wait for the rice to get boiled, therefore keep checking the rice grain.
  • After 15-20 minutes, take one grain of rice and mash it to check if it is cooked well. Rice should be soft.
  • Stir the milk at regular intervals, to avoid sticking of rice at the bottom of the pan.
  • If needed add more milk, as milk gets evaporated during this long time of cooking.
  • Meanwhile, cut the jaggery into small pieces, so that it easily gets dissolved in the milk.
  • Once, the rice is cooked, add the jaggery into the milk.
  • Stir the milk, so that jaggery gets dissolved.
  • You will notice the change in colour of the Kheer. You will notice reddish colour of the Kheer.
  • Once the jaggery gets dissolved, mix the Kheer and switch of the flame.
  • Your Kheer is ready to eat. Garnish it will the sliced dry fruits.

Enjoy the Delicious Sweet Dish! :)
