Besan Ke Ladoo (made of gram flour) - Is an all time favourite sweet for Indians.
Ingredients for Besan Ke Ladoo:
- Besan (gram flour) - 2 cups
- Sugar, powdered - 1 to 1.5 cup
- Ghee - 3/4 cup
- Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
- Almonds, sliced - 5 to 6
Let's follow the steps:
- Roast Besan/gram flour in a pan at low flame for around 10 minutes. Stir it continuously, to avoid it sticking to the pan.
- You will start getting a nutty fragrance.
- Once the colour changes to golden brown, add ghee - 1/4th cup and roast for 5 to 8 minutes. Add sliced almonds too.
- You can add cashew nuts and raisins too.
- Remember to continuously stir the Besan. Else, Besan can get burnt.
- Take out the Besan in a plate and let it cool down.
- Once it's cooled down, add cardamom powder, and mix well.
- Now add powdered sugar and mix well. You can increase or decrease the quantity of sugar, as per your taste.
- Now the mixture will look dry.
- Add the rest ghee to the mixture and with the help of hands, mix well till you get the right texture.
- You will know the right texture, when you will be able to make small balls (ladoos) by taking small portions of mixture. At that moment, don't add any more ghee.
- Now repeat it, take small portions of mixture and make small balls.
